Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Strategy

The strategy provides a clear blueprint for how our region will work with government, industry, and partners to drive clean energy leadership, nature recovery, economic growth, and improved opportunities for all residents.

What this strategy will deliver

The Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority Shadow Board has approved our ambitious 20-year Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Strategy (SIES) that will transform our region into the UK's healthiest, most sustainable, inclusive and fastest-growing area by 2045.

The highest rate of economic and productivity growth in the North—capitalising on our region's existing strengths to accelerate prosperity.

4.5 million tonnes of annual carbon reduction by 2030—positioning us as leaders in clean energy and climate action.

Expanded opportunity and reduced poverty—through improved transport, digital connectivity and access to quality housing

Thank you to all those who attended our summer workshops and offered feedback to shape the creation of the strategy. Our consultation report is available to read here.
